They met as bright-eyed sophomores at Texas A&M University, 1975. Rick Tocquigny of Sherman, Texas. Carla Rohlack of Taylor, Texas. Two sharp minds who became fast friends. They studied together. Laughed together. Dreamed together. He had a quick wit. She had a loud strength. Both were top of their high school classes—but among Aggies, that made them average. Still, they stood out.

Together, they invented something truly remarkable—The A-Wrist-o-crat. A wristwatch designed for Rick’s father, recovering from a heart attack. A heartfelt creation, years before Casio or Fitbit. Their idea won top honors in a marketing innovation contest. It wasn’t just ahead of its time. It was a sign of what was to come.

Graduation came in 1978. Rick took his first professional steps at Procter & Gamble. Carla joined Johnson & Johnson. Both stationed in Dallas. But love doesn’t clock in and out. Before long, they were married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor, Texas. A traditional German wedding. 400 guests. A Grand March. A grand beginning.

Promotions came. So did moves. From Dallas to Houston. Rick shifted to Frito-Lay. Rose quickly. And then, the best promotion of all—Fatherhood. On March 12, 1985, Heather Brianne entered the world. Two souls became a family. A year later, on September 10, 1986, Jennifer Jan completed their perfect picture.

What followed were years filled with joy, diapers, and dreams. Career moves took them from Boca Raton to New Hampshire to Boulder. Eighteen years in consumer packaged goods. Then, a new chapter—thirty years in publishing and podcasting.

Heather and Jennifer made their own footprints—Heather to the University of Southern California. Jennifer to the University of Alabama. Both danced their way into excellence. (If only Texas A&M had a dance team back in 2003)

Now? Jennifer lights up Los Angeles with Many Moons Entertainment, producing films that matter. Heather, married in a fairy tale French wedding in 2018, lives in Austin with her husband and two extraordinary little ones—Henry and Margot. Professionally, she is the top food photog in Texas.

And Rick and Carla?

They’re in Austin too. Exactly where God wants them. Serving as marriage counselors at Gateway Church. Producing over 100 podcasts a year. They just surpassed 4,040 podcasts—each one sharing stories that are, well, Truly Significant.

They have no plans to retire. Instead, they plan to serve until their final breath. Because that’s what energizes them. Keeps them young. Gives them purpose.

One word defines them.

Blessed.
